INSTALLING A NEW MAST

Work specification

By correctly done rigging, when setting up a new mast, unintended consequences will be avoided. The consequences of a bad done rigging can be disastrous (i.e. mast fall) what is rare; more often is, however, the unnecessary overloading of the mast, rigg and the sailing yacht itself.

The durability of the rigg system (as roller furlings, mast rollers, roller booms etc.) is significantly reduced by incorrect mast setting, and thus the sail damages are frequent.
Factory errors are also frequent at delivery of all relevant parts and are difficult to be detected before the mast hoisting itself. So, for example, it can happen that the mast hoisting has been done, but you have to disassemble the mast, because the wires are not of proper length.
All these are reasons why you should entrust such job to an experienced team, that has often managed to solve the listed problems successfully.

The rigging of a new sailing yacht inludes following operations:

1.check of the deck shroud bases

2. laying cables for the wind instrument, radio antenna and other electric cables through the mast tube in agreement with the client

3. additonal ropes pulling in agreement with the client

4. mast rigging preparation: spreader installation; installation of appropriate wires; furling compilation, lubrication of the wire tensioners

5. preparation of the existing ropes before the rigging

6. correctness check of the fitted lights before the mast rigging

7. mast rigging by crane

8. mast installation midships and its tuning on factory settings

9. boom and vang installation, laying cables to the cockpit; lubrication of the upper furler roller and roll mainsail bearings and their tensioners

10.laying mast cables under deck

11. sail hoisting in agreement with the client

12.installation of sprayhood, bimini top, steering wheel and railing (if necessary) in agreement with the client

13. if necessary (on larger sailing yachts), installation of rudder blade and keel fin by forklift crane, in agreement with the client

After the completed season, i.e. when the cables are streched, it is necessary to check and tighten all the cables. The subsequent maintenance service would be provided exclusively near the city of Zadar, at a time agreed with the client. This subsequent trimming is important for the reason of checking the existing condition and preventive removal of all noticed defects.

If you are unable to reach us, we will be happy to send you the settings to which we trimmed your mast so that every rigger can "trim" your mast.

Only after the subsequent trimming is done, we issue a mast trim certificate. For this work, we charge the price of one working hour.

Points 11 - 13 are optional and are not included in the offer, but will be calculated later.
