About Us
¨SKIPER¨ Ltd. was established in August 2007 by Milan Čikić (nickname ČIKE), born in 1966, navigator/sailor by occupation.
After 17 years of work experience, of which 12 years in different charter companies on diverse skipper jobs (boat maintenance etc.) and 8 years of which as base manager, he registered a craft busines under the name ¨SKIPER¨ with the intention to offer skipper services, as well as mast and deck equipment service.
It shouldn't be omitted here that Čike has even managed to win a few regattas. Actually, this has happened more often than the law of probability would allow.
On 1 April 2008 (it's no 1st April joke!) Igor Škarica was employed after 4 years experience as skipper (boat maintenance). By the way, Igor is related to the owner of the trade, moreover, he is his nephew, i.e. his sister's son, so this is a living example of nepotism in the Croatian economy, but it is also an example of creating a harmonious family business.
In 2009 wholesale was registered as additional business.
Becoming the dealer for the BSI-nautical equipment in Croatia in 2010 we import the first contingent of goods from Denmark.
In the school year 2009/2010, due to the apprentice ship contract, Dino Gajić, a vocational school student for the profession ¨shipbuilder of plastic boats¨ joins us.
Anđelo Šindija, student of the Maritime School is employed in 2014 as temporary assistant during the saison.
In August 2016 Mrs. Edita Čikić also joins the team and takes over the administrative duties in our business.
After the temporary assistance in the ¨SKIPER¨ Company Anđelo Šindija is hired permanently in 2017 and becomes integral part of our team. Not that we are boasting, but think: how many companies have an Anđelo (= angel) in their ranks.
